Well 2012 has been very eventful and extremely busy for us in the Equestrian Escapes office so far! Andalucía Escapes is almost ready to go live; Lou, Sarah and our top website design team have been working round the clock during the Christmas and New Year period in order to get it up and running for January ’12. Since my return form a very lovely 3 week holiday in Thailand we have had two articles published (one in the travel supplement of the Telegraph and the other in the British Horse Society Magazine) and our new brochure has been printed (yey), resulting in a huge number of enquiries for UK and non UK destinations alike – We love being kept busy though so keep them coming!
As our introductory offer in Cheshire has proved so popular we are extending the finish date to the 30th April ’12. We also have two very romantic Valentines offers in Wiltshire and Essex running throughout February.
Finally I think I should tell you all that during the Boxing day hunt with the Cheshire’s Sarah took a tumble from baby Ferdie (the day before she was due to go on a family skiing holiday to Canada) both are fine but Sarah dislocated her hip causing her, in her own words, “as much pain as child birth”..ouch! After being airlifted to Wythenshawe hospital her hip was ‘popped’ back into its socket, thankfully with no complications. See action shot below..

Needless to say Sarah did fly to Canada the following day and although not much skiing took place she did meet some gorgeous Huskies..

How cute!

As you may already know Equestrian Escapes have moved offices and we are just about up and running again as normal – after the palava of installing a new internet and phone system, and just about everything you can think of going wrong DID go worng we are pretty much there (2 weeks later)!
The office is looking great though, huge compared to the last one, the tree is up and the first Christmas card was opened this morning. Although the icy temperatures have managed to freeze our water supply we have not let it darken our festive spirits, instead of endless cups of tea we are now drinking endless cups of hot chocolate which isn’t a bad thing in my eyes!
During the move we managed to stumble upon a very nice picture of Sarah and Sasha – see below

Then we found another one..it took us a while but can you tell the difference??

The funniest thing was when Sarah showed these pictures to her mum, she laughed and said “well of course I know thats you Sarah, they’re your eyes!”
For any more information about Equestrian Escapes please contact Sarah, Lou and Lindsey at http://www.equestrian-escapes.com/contactus.htmlor call the NEW office on 01829 781123.

Dont worry your favourite horsey holiday company isn’t emigrating! Equestrian Escapes are leaving their small (but perfectly formed) little office behind and travelling all the way accross the drive into our brand new beautiful one!
For the past 4 months Mike and his superb team of builders and electricians have set up camp (pretty much) at Rose Cottage and spend days upon days erecting our huge fantastic new office. Much to the delight of Hector our resident dog who has had full time ball throwers on site at his every beck and call!
On the 4th November Sarah and Lou will be hauling desks, computers and files over to the new build where we can then look forward to answering your emails and phone calls looking out over Mark’s pretty carp pond, Sarah’s well manicured gardens, and across the rolling fields where Trevor, Percey, Fan and Julio graze.
The next stage (much to Lou’s disappointment) will be for Sarah and I to decorate our new office with fairy lights and rows of tinsel in time for Christmas!
We are hoping that with the new larger office we will be able to work better and more efficiently as a team, with the newly installed computer and phone system we aim to give you the customers an even higher standard of quality customer care and service.
Our goal and Philosophy will always remain the same-
To provide a truly memorable horse riding experience designed by people who understand horse riding. This means you can book with confidence knowing we have:
* Inspected and approved the stables and the quality of the horses you will ride
* Checked the riding instructors and guides are suitably qualified and operate safely
* Assessed the rides for their quality and to match them to differing riding standards
* Checked your accommodation to ensure it meets our demanding criteria
* Carefully put together riding itineraries that are fun, exciting and challenging (for those who want to be challenged!)
Our Philosophy
At the heart of our business is our respect for horses and the value they have added to man throughout the ages. We feel the horse helps remind us of the strong link between humans and environment. In addition we recognize the benefits that horse-riding gives to individuals.
We want to be known for offering the best selection of UK horse riding holidays and abroad possible and for our customers to feel happy to recommend us to their friends and families.

Fore more information please contact Equestrian Escapes on 01829 781123 where you can speak to Sarah, Lindsey or Lou. Alternatively emal us at info@equestrian-escapes.com

I have been researching horse articles today and came across this poem, just what is a horse? I think this describes it perfectly!
What is a horse?
A horse has eyes as dainty as a mink.
The grace is interrupted merely by a blink.
A horse is beauty.
What is a horse?
A horse is a tree in a storm that never goes down.
A horse is a weathered rock that stays around.
A horse is ancient.
What is a horse?
A horse waltzes like breeze over rivers.
She curvets and leaps like rain shivers.
A horse is a marionette.
What is a horse?
A horse is determination, that never stops flowing.
A horse is fondness, that never stops growing.
A horse is poetic power.

Equestrian Escapes have been receiving wonderful customer feedback from our horse riding holiday-goers, and we are delighted with the response! Here is a little taster, but I assure you there is plenty more to come…
Laura took a French horse riding holiday to Saumur in the Loire Valley and

Laura - many thanks!
had a wonderful time – “exciting place close to the Loire River … great experience visiting Le Cadre Noir!” Laura said she would happily suggest a horse riding holiday with Equestrian Escapes to friends and family, and said she would definitely go again!
Jim went on one of our Portugal horse riding holidays to Obidos Lagoon.

Thank you, Jim, for such fantastic feedback!
Jim was very happy with our service – “Excellent. Especially at such late notice: thank you!” and that the facilities and riding were “outstanding”. When asked about his overall experience with us, he said: “[t]he experience [that the staff had] with and knowledge of the horses transmits confidence. The horses themselves were, I thought (not having ridden before), wonderful animals. I wished I’d had more time there!”
Kyrrias kindly gave us feedback on her horse riding holiday to Cornwall.

Thank you kyrrias - we look forward to booking your next horse riding holiday with us!
Kyrrias assured Equestrian Escapes that they chose us because of our quick and positive handling of her booking over other tour operators. When asked about the quality of riding that was available to her, Kyrrias boasted: “”Excellent, we liked all our instructors and I was successful in a dressage test I took on my return, I’m sure the extra practice helped!”

Equestrian Escapes are delighted to bring to all our horse lovers a large variety of different horse riding breaks!
Berkshire has much to offer, and this short riding break is set on a large rural estate so that your horse riding
holiday will be one of peace and tranquility. With this holiday you have a choice of accommodation, from self-catered to staying in the farmhouse where wonderful home cooking will be provided. Local pubs and restaurants are only a short drive away if you fancy the night off. Lessons available can be in the form of either private lessons, semi-private lessons or group riding lessons – the choice is up to you! After the morning lesson followed by a lovely lunch, the scenic hack will begin where you will get a taster of the beauty of Berkshire…

Exeter is full to the brim with beautiful scenery and equine excellence. This short break riding holiday allows you to work on your skills, with particularly good equestrian tuition in dressage and show jumping. Accommodation again ranges from a farmhouse Bed & Breakfast, self-catered cottages and a luxurious Golf & Spa hotel with access to tennis courts. Whatever your accommodation though, be assured that the Equestrian Escapes Team aim to bring to you the best holiday that will suit your needs.
If you are looking for a more romantic horse riding break away, then perhaps you should explore Wales. The Isle
of Anglesey is situated near the stunning Snowdonian Mountain Range so the standard of beauty is very high. Here is an opportunity to lose yourself in the great outdoors and get closer to nature by riding along the expansive coastline shores. The horses available are varied, from ponies to experienced horses so that the rider will have a companion they can feel at ease with. High quality instruction is available to all ages and standards of horse riding, so that one is able to get the most out of their horse riding break.
If ‘variety is the spice of life’ is your motto, then perhaps you should try some Western riding in Bournemouth. This spectacular horse riding break is of high standard and more popular than you would first think! Western riding evolved from the ranching and warfare traditions brought to America by the Spanish Conquistadors, and both equipment and riding style evolved to meet the long hours in the saddle of the cowboy. On this horse riding break you will sample some forest riding, trail riding and beach riding so that the scenery is varied and you and your horse will never tire of it!
For any more information on any of our horse riding breaks or horse riding holidays, please contact Equestrian Escapes where we look forward to arranging your dream holiday….

Dear Equestrian Escapes,
I recently travelled to Slovenia and came across some horses that reminded me of a horse-riding holiday that I booked through you. I went alone, to Barcelona and had the most wonderful time. I remember especially that the horses were so healthy and well looked after, and Barcelona itself was so pretty. I am currently travelling around Europe on business, but when I return I think I may just ring you to book a well-deserved horse-riding break! Italy, perhaps this time! Or perhaps I should try something entirely different? Maybe the side-saddle?…….
I look forward to speaking to you on my return,
Many thanks,
Eduardo (Horse Expert)
