Pony Trekking In The Yorkshire Dales

The vast stretches of countryside that make up the beautiful and ever-reaching Yorkshire Dales will envelop you and take you on a whirlwind adventure, that is a Pony Trekking Weekend!  For all up-and-coming equestrian enthusiasts, this is not one to be missed!  The Yorkshire Dales acts as a wonderful set to play your part on a pony trekking adventure holiday.  40 acres of grounds and 26 acres of woodland means that you are spoiled in the Yorkshire Dales.  Although this holiday is for children who are eager to ride, lessons and hacks can be arranged for adults, and non-riders are most welcome too!  The staff on site are there to educate, encourage and evaluate your child’s progress so that they take the steps to become a successful pony rider – the sky is the limit!

The Beautiful Yorkshire Dales

Accommodation is in the form of a self-catered cottage situated right next to the stables so that you are never too far from your horsey friend, and so that you can make yourselves comfortable and properly settle in during your horse riding holiday.  Facilities include both an indoor and outdoor riding arena and all levers of rider are most welcome.  If you are a more confident rider and there is something in particular you may wish to grasp the technique of, just tell our staff and they will be more than happy to work on it with you throughout your stay.  Stable management courses are also available for beginners, where children will also learn safety around their pony, how to tack up, etc.

This pony trekking holiday can be invaluable to those who are willing to take it seriously and are keen on horses, and I would recommend it to anyone!

Equestrian Escapes’ Horse Riding Holiday, Berkshire

Berkshire is typically picturesque and its fabulous beauty is set in the most ideal of places.  Close to London and Oxford, Berkshire can easily tempt you into a wonderful mini break, and even for the kids too.  You may even be tempted into a mid week mini break, filled with fresh air and the picturesque valley and wonderful woodland make it perfect for walks and trekking on horseback.

If you are one for sight seeing as well as horse riding, then Berkshire is perfect for you.  Windsor Castle, Highclere Castle, or even bird watching in the tranquil Beagle Park (also wonderful to visit with a good book).  The fresh air and picturesque scenery clears your mind, and takes you far away from the hustle and bustle of home life.  And more than that, Berkshire is simply a horsey haven; Ascot, Royal Windsor, Newbury racecourse and Lambourne are just a short drive away.

If you are looking for your children to learn in a peaceful area of such a pretty nature, then choose a horse riding holiday that offer you exactly what you want.  This holiday offers an opportunity of younger learners to stay with us with out there parents, perhaps with friends in the summer holidays.  We offer twenty-four hour adult supervision, and ensure that your kids get to know horses better, and improve their skills with them.  As well as this there will be other activities, including swimming, games, films, picnics, barbecues, ball games and walks around this area of natural beauty.  A wonderful horse riding holiday experience!

So, as you can see Berkshire offers a horse riding holiday for everyone, and if not, Equestrian Escapes will tailor make a horse riding holiday just for you.

Bubbles

Friday, May 14th, 2010

When I was very young I had a horse called Bubbles. Named so because he had a beautiful, fluffy white coat and gentle grey spackles down his mane and back that then ran into much darker speckles on his behind.

He was extraordinarily gentle, and my first memory of him was with my mother and his owner.  My Mum had picked me up from school unexpectedly and driven me to this ‘unknown location’.  At the time, I had no idea where we were going, and thought maybe she was picking up horse feed or hay.  Then the surprise; we had come to try out a horse that could be mine!  We found him in a large green field that spread out for acres and when he was called, and whistled to, he came trotting up to the gate.  I was put on his back there and then, with a head collar, and I remember him being so so gentle.  We had to ride through a large farmyard that was then a building site, but the din and whir of the cement mixers didn’t trouble him, and we rode on together.  Immediately we fell in love with him, and I knew he was mine!

Equestrian Horse Riding Holiday

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010

These four words are absolutely vital to our philosophy here at Equestrian Escapes. When we consider a new package, or putting a new destination onto our list of “To be scouted…” we ask ourselves a few questions to help determine whether it is suitable for our style. Our style of course being linked closely into our desired impact on the customer and the overall quality and delivery of the Equestrian Escapes product range.

Question number one.

Is is fit to be an Equestrian Escapes Horse Riding Holiday? Now by fit I mean does it tick those oh so necessary boxes that we know our customers need. Have we got those vital three C’s? Comfort, Culture and Climate. I heard you laugh! I’ll admit, we let our various England, Wales and Ireland venues slip under the bar with the weather reviews but this is for two very good reasons. One; we know our own land. Two; we have seen living testament over the past few decades to the amount of dedicated riders and horse lovers who are completely willing to brave gale force 27 winds and an icey bout of rain in England. And do you know why they do it? Simple. These people love their animals and these conditions only make you enjoy the good weather more. So needless to say, we launched our domestic range and it still is a smash hit. People love a good UK riding holiday. That’s the kind of holiday they want more often than not, given the current economical climate.

Question two.

When are we getting out to this new possible destination to have a thorough look at the available accommodation, riding centers and restaurants? We refuse to reccommed something to our customers unless we know it’s good. First hand sampling of all you will encounter, bar the unpredictable… for instance, no we did not test the air for possible traces of volcanic ash. Within reason, but with dedicated dilligance. That is how we always aim to operate when considering new destinations for your next horse riding holiday.

Question three. If we have aquired good answers to our first two questions then…

How soon can it be up on the website and available to you? How soon can it be ready? We want it sooner. The way we see this near final stage of the riding holiday process is that you could be going on your single holiday of the year in three weeks time. That’s right you, the customer. So what if you’d like to go to Madrid with your family of four this year on a riding holiday, you have already seen the standard we work at and would rather find yourself a new location than a different tour operator. That is customer loyalty, and that is what we strive to achieve. We want our relationships to strengthen over time with our customers. You should feel both confident and excited about your trip just knowing that Equestrian Escapes are the people who have been with you each step of the way. It is an Equestrian Escapes horse riding holiday and you should expect no less.

Dear Sarah

I’m sorry it’s taken me so long to write to thank you for organising the most fabulous holiday for my husband, Ben and son, Oli.  It was a total and complete all-round success!  They both just loved it – I really can’t be sufficiently effusive or grateful.

Of course, as you predicted, the highlight was Alfonso.  He was clearly charming – attentive, kind, enthusiastic and an expert with his horses.  Both boys raved about the riding and Alfonso’s skills.  He clearly looked after them well beyond what was expected.

The hotel worked well and they both enjoyed being in Jerez and seeing the horses.

Thank you Sarah – it was a wonderful experience that I know Oli will remember all his life.

I’m just hoping to find an excuse to go myself as I’m hugely jealous!!

All the best,

Lucy”

That testimonial was recieved just today (21/4/10). It is an unprompted thankyou from yet another happy customer about the horse riding holiday she bought for her husband and son.

Spring Horse Riding Holiday

Monday, April 12th, 2010

A horse riding holiday in the spring in the UK is a great way to start the year and to try to keep up new year resolutions to enjoy more fresh air and to take regular exercise. We are please to report record numbers of riders joining us for our Eater riding vacations and having received back most of the comment forms we are delighted to report that everyone had a great time. In fact one lady has already booked a repeat trip on her riding holiday in Berkshire! We thought we would like to share some of our customers comments with you:

As a lone traveller I was apprehensive.  I was made to feel welcome and put at ease both at the guest house and at the riding centre.  The riding was amazing.  They know their horses well and match them perfectly to your requirements.  I had an amazing time and I am sure I will be back!

This was our second visit to Berkshire and it was just as good as the first time.  My daughter found the riding excellent and the opportunity to help round the stables was much appreciated.  I don’t ride but enjoyed a relaxing time and the lovely country walks.  We will definitely be back!

Many thanks. We had a lovely time, now we appreciate how beautiful Cheshire is, there really are miles of riding oportunities!

If you are interest in joining us in May or June now is the time to book please contact us on 01829 781123

The story so far…

Wednesday, March 24th, 2010

Two thousand and ten brings nothing but positive thoughts for the hard workers here at Equestrian Escapes. Behind the scenes we have been chipping away at a long list of tasks all working towards bringing new holidays to the table. Whilst at the same time, balancing our efforts to keep the customer service high and managing the business as it rapidly expands. The last of these points being the most crucial.

Riding Holidays throughout Europe

Equestrian Escapes started providing quality, tailor made horse riding holidays only three and a half short years ago and is now the proud partner of a significant portion of the wide market share of horse riding holidays in Europe. This proves Equestrian Escapes is here to stay as a healthy competitor doing its vital part to help drive down holiday prices and keep the bigger horse holiday businesses on their tippy toes.

With the UK finally completing that long climb out of the recession we are all so eager to forget about, it definitely is time to enjoy our compliments and rewards made possible by you, the customer. Not in the sense of a massive profit margin (because our holidays are designed to compete with the best) but rather, our horsey experts are in this business because of one thing – they love riding. If our Managing Director Sarah Caplan had not followed her unfaltering passion for riding and continued to sustain her excellent skills and knowledge up to this point then there really is no doubt that Equestrian Escapes would not be standing this tall.

Our success in this business comes down to one of our main key points of practise. That is taking the sweet time and effort to scout these holidays and scrutinise their every detail for you. Now that sounds like a luxurious job doesn’t it? Not as much as you would think. These horse riding holidays all have various options and can be tweaked and tailored to suit your party at any point. So if there are many variables then that means one thing… we have been there and tested them. So when Sarah goes for instance to Barcelona or Madrid, she visits the hotels, goes on all of the rides and meets the people who will be dealing directly with you. Whilst all the time assessing the quality of what she is seeing and how it is going to help you make the best of your holiday.

But despite the hard work it pays off. Every day we get more testimonials from happy customers just wanting to drop a line, or little note to say thank you or a full account of their holiday and how truly great it was. Usually ending with how they don’t want to wait until next year to travel with us again.

It certainly is a positive time at the moment, everything is coming together and the hard work is paying off. So not for the last time, thank you.

Deep in Delamere Forest lies a Log Cabin

Friday, February 26th, 2010

Upon my recent discovery of a delightful Log Cabin nestled away in the forest (not so far from my very own home) in the stunning Cheshire Countryside, I jumped with joy! Utterly elated I began designing a brand new itinerary with with which I planned to further broaden Equestrian Escapes’ overall list of destinations. Now, although this hot new discovery is not to far to fly from the nest, I really believe that it does not detract from either its beauty, nor its quiet nature. This is a true UK Riding Holiday.

Did I mention the Jaccuzi?

Soak up after a hard days riding

As with the vast majority of Equestrian Escapes’ holidays, this one is nice and flexible. You could go for our reccomended week in the woods, or if it suits you better… just specify a long weekend, short mid-week break or whatever else takes your fancy!

It’s self catering, so the food is down to you. But this is a positive thing, especially when you plan on taking your children, as many families do decide with their riding holidays today. As we all know, even the best kids can be fussy towards a “posh” meal in a nice restaurant, as their palates are still developing. So dodge the bullet if you know it’s coming and cook all their favourites! And most importantly mum and dad, remember to take it in turns cooking. A holiday is for everyone, and so you must be considerate, this is the nature of good Family Riding Holidays.

Time to dine

Once you have enjoyed one of our holidays we would very much so like to hear about your experiences. Grateful customers often contact us just to let us know how their holiday was. See how Happy Horse Riders Compliment Their Favourite Tour Operator, Equestrian Escapes.

Excellent lessons gave me lots of help with riding skills and the horses provided for lessons and trail rides were fantastic. Overall Experience – I loved my week riding in Spain it was a great combination of lessons and trail rides and also got to experience a little of the culture through flamenco show and a visit to the Jerez royal riding school. Epona was an amazing experience my 2 horses were beautiful and taught me a lot, Fernando made sure everyone was happy and kept us all amused with his jokes. A sunny day for learning

A happy customer taking instruction from a trainer

Tarporley Cheshire

The room and service were excellent and the beds, very comfortable. We were impressed with the quality of the private lessons, the hacks were good fun and useful for putting the techniques that we learned into practise. We really enjoyed our experience, can think of nothing that would have improved it. Brilliant weekend. By far the best horse-riding experience I’ve had, the teachers were patient and knowledgeable and I felt I learned a lot. The hacks were great fun and were a good opportunity to put the techniques we learned into practise, as well as a brilliant way to see the countryside.

Thankyou
