Medieval Castle Tour

The architecture is bold, it describes the period it was built in with expertise

Castles in Tuscany hold a reputation among historians around the world

We have recently returned from a new tour in Tuscany, Italy. We are always looking for tours that are just a little bit different and the Medieval Castle Tour certainly fits the bill. During your holiday you will be staying in two medieval castles and a fortress. The first castle we stayed at was a splendid 17th century castle complete with a fairy tale turret. The riding is suitable for intermediate to advanced riders and you spend about four to five hours in the saddle each day. The scenery is spectacular as you follow ancient tracks and pass through vineyards and around the hillsides. The horses that we rode on The Medieval Castle Tour were a mixture of haflinger, appaloosa and maremanno, they all had excellent temperaments and looked after us very well! One highlight of the castle tour were the lovely picnic lunches laid out on the hillside and in shady glades. The horses were happy to graze quietly while we rested and prepared for the afternoons ride. All too soon we came to the end of the medieval castle tour and retuned to our starting point. We celebrated with a farewell dinner and said farewell to our new friends. This was one of my favourite historical riding holidays.

New Riding Holidays for 2010

Tuesday, December 8th, 2009

We have been busy searching the UK and Europe for new riding holidays for 2010. When we are looking for new holiday ideas we visit the stables and ride the horses making sure that we talk to the instructors in detail about what our potential customers expect. As we are all riding instructors here we have high standards for the care of the horses, the equipment provided and the qualification levels of the instructors. We hope that you will agree with the many riding holiday testimonials that you will find on our site that we generally get it right! We appreciate that for many of you work has become more demanding making it increasingly difficult to take long holidays so with this in mind we have added lots of short break horse riding holidays in the UK and Europe. These breaks are all flexible so that we can tailor make itineraries to fit in with suitable flights and your holiday dates. We are always happy for people to contact us directly as we all know our holidays well and can offer helpful advice in order to ensure that you get the most enjotment possible from your valuabe free time. For impartial friendly advice please call us on 01829 781123

Horse riding

We were at an equestrian steering group meeting yesterday and were delighted to hear that the number of people learning to ride horses has actually increased this year! The reason given was that people who had not travelled abroad this year had been looking for more interesting activities for their holidays in the UK. That is great news for us, so we have been busy adding to our portfolio of riding holidays in the UK. For loads of horsey information visit Equestrian Escapes’ Horse World.

We have added riding weekends, short break holidays and some week long learn to ride options. We understand that riders choosing to travel with us may be of different standards and we can happily cater for beginners through to advanced riders on all our holidays.

lessons and hacking

The riding holiday programmes include a mixture of lessons and hacking so that you have the opportunity to improve your style but we don’t work you to death! If the weather in the UK puts you off in the winter months we offer similar programmes in Andalucia in Southern Spain. Having checked the flight prices this morning with Easy Jet and Ryan Air it is as cheap to fly to Spain as it is to catch the train to London! So if you are wanting to try something new or rekindle an interest that you had in the past please visit the website where you will find a great choice of riding weekends, short breaks and longer holidays!
